ADHD is a medical condition that affects the brain and makes it difficult to manage daily life. People with ADHD might get distracted easily, act without thinking, or frequently experience conflict with others.
People with ADHD may struggle with completing tasks, managing time, and maintaining relationships due to these symptoms.
ADHD symptoms can vary depending on the type, but common signs include:
Several factors can increase the likelihood of developing ADHD:
Genetics: ADHD often runs in families, so if someone in your family has it, you may be more likely to have it as well.
Brain structure: Research suggests that people with ADHD may have differences in the structure and function of certain parts of their brains.
Environmental factors: Exposure to toxins or substances during pregnancy, or early childhood trauma, can increase the risk of ADHD.
Our coordinated care includes therapy and psychiatry to help you manage mental health symptoms, navigate life challenges, and build resilience.
Mental health medication is a common treatment for ADHD and can help improve focus and impulse control. Talk to a Brave psychiatrist to see if medication is right for you.

At Brave Health, therapists typically meet with patients for 50-minute video sessions on our secure telehealth platform. The frequency of sessions can vary based on the individual's needs and goals.
You will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet with a camera and microphone, as well as a reliable internet connection.
You will receive a text reminder 24 hours before your appointment, and another text and email reminder 15 minutes prior to the appointment with a link to the telehealth session. At that time, prepare to move to a private space and click the link to join a private waiting room where the clinician will arrive.
During the first 60-minute video appointment, the mental health clinician will ask questions, evaluate needs, and present treatment options.
