Your Easy Video Visit Guide

We want to make sure your session is as smooth as possible. Most technical issues can be fixed in under a minute by following the simple steps below.

1. Getting Started: The Right Browser

Using the correct web browser is the most important step for a successful connection.

  • If you have an iPhone or iPad: You must use Safari. Audio may not work if you use Chrome or other browsers.
  • If you have an Android phone: We recommend using Mozilla Firefox for the best experience.
    • Note: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge often have trouble connecting to our video platform.
    • You can download Firefox for free from the Google Play Store.
  • If you are on a Computer (PC/Mac): Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox

Ensure your browser window is "active" (clicked on) so the video can start.

2. Enabling Your Camera & Microphone

When you click your meeting link, your browser will ask for permission to use your camera and microphone.

  • Always click "Allow" or "Grant Access" when the pop-up appears.
  • Check your settings: If you accidentally clicked "Block," look for a small camera or lock icon in the address bar at the top of your screen to reset permissions.
  • Testing: Once you are in the virtual waiting room, you can perform a quick test to ensure your microphone and video are working.

3. Mobile Troubleshooting (Most Common)

  • The "Link" Issue: If you aren't receiving your link via text, try texting the word START to (407) 612-1048 to reset your notifications.
  • Android Users: Check if you are using Facebook Messenger as your primary texting app; sometimes this interferes with opening meeting links.
  • Refresh: If the screen freezes, simply refresh your browser page or click the link in your text message again.

4. Computer Troubleshooting (PC/Laptop)

  • Check your Hardware: Ensure your mouse and keyboard are plugged in or turned on. If using a laptop, make sure your webcam isn't covered by a privacy slider.
  • Close Extra Tabs: Too many open windows can slow down your connection. Close other apps (like Netflix or YouTube) and browsers before your session begins.
  • Browser Focus: If you can't see the provider, make sure you haven't clicked away to another window. Your video session must be the "active" window on your screen.

5. Plan B: Google Meets

  • If Doxy.me is still not working after these steps, your provider may send you a Google Meets link as a backup.

    • Requirement: You will need a Gmail account to use Google Meets.
    • App: You may need to download the Google Meet app on your mobile device.
